I am a lifelong part-time woodworker that discovered woodturning in 2001.

I am a fulltime electronics technician. I spent 7 years on active duty with the US NAVY Submarine Service and the past 13 years supporting the fleet. Subs are made of steel and are cold and hard to the senses. I find wood to be a sharp contrast to that and provides me with a warm comfortable feeling. As a medium for art I enjoy the properties wood has to offer. I love its natural beauty, and surprises.

As a long time resident of Cape Cod it is important to me that I use local wood. Most of my wood supply comes from Cape Cod native reclaimed wood. This wood is rescued from homeowners and arborists taking down trees. My earliest turning was a small maple bowl. The form came to me as I looked at the block of wood. Once I envisioned the form, I just removed what didn't belong. The result was a real eye opener. For the first time in working with wood I felt like I had created something that revealed the beauty that Mother Nature put in there. I love the challenge each piece of wood brings. My favorite woods to turn are Black Walnut, Red Cedar and any Maples.

I am a member of the American Association of Woodturners and an active member of the Cape Cod Woodturners chapter. I live on Cape Cod with my wife Lisa, our two children, two dogs and a cat.
